Elected office-bearer of journalist body

Silveri Srishailam, editor, Probe Times , has unanimously been elected national secretary of the National Union of Journalists of India (NUJ-I) in the elections held on Sunday. He would continue in the office for two years. Vijay Kranthi, who was the returning officer, announced the results and informed the same to the media. Mr. Srishailam, a senior journalist, who worked in different vernacular and national newspapers, thanked the Telangana Journalists’ Association and its advisor Uppala Laxman for proposing him to the post.

He also said that he would sincerely work for the betterment of working conditions of journalists, their salaries and service conditions.
